Our Active School Committee
At Scoil Réalt na Mara, Active Schools is driven by our dedicated Active School Committee, comprising two students from each class from 1st to 6th. This committee meets regularly throughout the year to brainstorm ideas and plan exciting events to ensure that physical activity remains at the heart of our school community. They work in collaboration with the whole school community to promote a culture of movement, well-being and inclusivity.
Active Schools Week
The highlight of the school year for our committee is undoubtedly our Active Schools Week. This week stands out as the pinnacle event on our Active School calendar, eagerly anticipated by students, staff, and families alike. Each morning kicks off with an invigorating 'Shake-Up-Wake-Up', with children exercising to music, setting the tone for the day ahead.
Throughout the week, a myriad of sports and activities are on offer, catering to all interests and abilities. From team sports to individual challenges, there's something for everyone to enjoy. The excitement peaks on Friday with a whole-school dance where every student gets to showcase their moves and celebrate the joy of being active together. Active Schools Week truly embodies the spirit of fun, fitness and community in our school.
