Agreed Report on Board of Management Meeting
Date of Board of Management Meeting: 23/10/24
- The Chairperson welcomed the Board and thanked them for their attendance.
- The minutes of the previous Board meeting were reviewed and approved.
- The Principal presented his report to the Board:
- The work completed on resurfacing the grass play area on the Junior Side of the school has been a great success.
- The Board conducted a review of the Child Safeguarding and Risk Assessment.
- Supervision Policy is currently under review- increased supervision on the school yard is now in place.
- Staff members have completed training from the Crisis Prevention Institute.
- A mag lock has been installed on the Skerries Rock Gate- concerns over safety and openness. The gate will close automatically after being opened.
- Emergency Works Application ongoing to upgrade the school’s lighting and electrical system.
- Residents in the school area becoming increasingly frustrated with parking situation. A message urging parents to park appropriately has been sent. A site visit with traffic coordinator from Fingal County Council is being arranged.
- Policies: Child Safeguarding & Risk Assessment, Digital Devices Policy and Special Educational Needs Policy reviewed and ratified by the Board of Management.
- The Board completed the Child Protection Oversight Report and received the Anti-Bullying Report.
- The Treasurer presented his report to the Board and the Board reviewed the financial position of the school.
- The Board agreed that a major fundraiser should take place in the 2024/25 school year. Mr Ó Fearraigh to discuss and arrange with the Parents Association.
