ROAD
SAFETY.
Road
Safety.
Yet
again, I would like to ask parents not to park near the
no-parking yellow lines outside the school. This is in the
interest of safety to all. All children cycling to school
should wear a helmet. Cycling is not allowed in the school
grounds. There is a problem arising from cars being parked
on both sides of the road near the Skerries Rock entrance.
This is very dangerous for children trying to cross the
road. Please take note and act with the safety of our
children in mind. Access to the school from the Skerries
Rock entrance is for school use only and is not to be used
by people taking a 'short cut' either during school hours
or after school.
REMEMBER
DO

TIME
KEEPING.
Time
Keeping.
It
has been noted that some pupils are repeatedly late
for school. The school opens at 8.50a.m. and all
children should be in class before 9.10a.m. when
classes formally begin. We would ask all parents leaving
their children into class to please vacate the rooms by
9.10a.m. so that teachers can begin class. A note to
teacher on the morning after your child is absent is
required. We would very much appreciate your full
co-operation in these matters.

principals are currently undertaking post graduate studies
in Educational Management at the University. Scoil Réalt
na Mara is one of a number of North Dublin schools
selected for visitation by the group who hope to
explore school management and teaching issues during their
visit. We look forward to meeting with them.

in February we sang the Beatles Medley at a concert in
Skerries Community College. We also sang at the Rang 2
First Confession in St. Patrick's Church and at the moment
we are rehearsing for the First Communion Mass on May
26th.

Dialann
Rang 6 - The Rang 6 Diary by Méabh Ní Mhaolagáin.
We
have done a lot of good things since Christmas. Well to
start with we went on a school tour to the ceol museum. It
was brilliant. We learnt a lot about traditional music
here in Ireland. Some of us did an entrance test in the
Skerries Community College on the 3rd. March to see
what classes we would get into. We started playing hurling
with Denis Forde. It was great because we got to practise
our skills and play lots of matches. We are looking
forward to making our confirmation on the 12th. of May. We
have been preparing and learning our songs. Then for three
weeks in March In. Uí Chárthaigh has been teaching us
for her teaching practice. I enjoy being in 6th. class.
